Guilds
Guilds are groups of players within Milky Way Idle with their own private chat channels and leaderboards. Guilds provide no direct gameplay benefit to players, but do have a variety of social features.
Creation
Players are able to create their own guilds, or join those made by other players. In order to create a guild, you must choose a name and pay 5 million coins on the Guild tab. If the name is already in use, nothing will happen, otherwise the guild will be created and be fully functional.
Discovery and Joining
In order to join an existing guild, a member of a guild with the role Officer or higher must invite you. Guild invitations will appear on the bottom of the Guild tab, where you can either decline or accept them. You can have unlimited pending invitations, and upon accepting an invite, you will join that guild as a Member and begin gaining Guild Experience.
Member Roles
Within a guild, there is a role hierarchy consisting of five roles: Leader, General, Officer, Member, and Invited. Each role has their own permissions, and the permissions of every role beneath them.
Leader
The Leader role is given to the current owner of the guild, and only one member can hold it at a time. The leader role can be given to members with the General role, which transfers leadership to that player and demotes the former leader to General. The Leader role has the following permissions:
- Ability to pass leadership to Generals
- Ability to disband the guild if they are the only member in it
General
The General role can be given to members by promoting those with the Officer role. The General role has the following permissions:
- Ability to promote Members and demote Officers
- Ability to edit the Guild Notice Board
Officer
The Officer role can be given by promoting those with the Member role. The Officer role has the following permissions:
- Ability to invite new members to the guild
- Ability to kick those with the Member role
Member
The Member role is given by default to players when accepting a guild invitation. The member role has the following permissions:
- Ability to view the Guild Overview
- Ability to view and type in the guild chat channel
Invited
The Invited role is given to players who have received but not accepted a guild invite. While not technically in the guild, they take up a player spot as to prevent there being more invitations sent out than there are open spots in a guild. The Invited role has no permissions until they accept the guild invite.
Guild Levels
Members within a guild earn Guild Experience at a 1:1000 ratio, which goes towards the Guild Level. The Guild Level has experience requirements identical to that of skills, and affects the guilds placement on the Guild Leaderboard and the number of member slots within the guild. Member Slots start at a base of 30, and are increased by 1 every 3 Guild Levels gained.
Other Features
Guild Chat Channel
Every guild has their own private chat channel, which can only be accessed by members of their respective guilds. These channels are not subject to the same rules as the public channels, but punishments can still be received for messages within these channels. Alerts for new members, promotions, Guild Level changes, Guild Notice changes, and regular level achievements are sent in this channel.
Guild Notice Board
The Guild Notice Board is a space located on the bottom of the main guild screen that can be edited by Generals and Leaders. It is a plain textbox, and an alert is sent in the guild chat channel whenever it is changed.
